Hypnotherapy: Hypnotherapy is the practice of using hypnosis in counseling. The idea is that by accessing your subconscious, hypnotherapy may be successful in habit control and in the healing of the inner child.

Hypnotherapy uses hypnotic techniques to bring about beneficial changes. Utilizing states of deep relaxation, the therapist assists in uncovering and exploring memories, emotions and past events which may affect a person's conscious mind and activating the client's inner resources in order to achieve the desired goals.

Hypnosis is used to help an individual overcome feelings of anxiety, stress, and depression. Therapy which includes hypnosis often is used for the treatment of illnesses and emotional problems throughout life that may be underlying in the subconscious state of mind.

A simple definition o hypnosis as it related to hypnotherapy is a naturally occurring altered state of consciousness in which the critical faculty is bypassed (mind in the conscious mode) and acceptable selective thinking established.
